Inscape, Zunaira Mirza, 2020

I tend to have a lot of inspiration through many forms of art when creating my photography. Whether it’d be music, activism, or any photographers I like, but for this specific photoshoot I’ve done with still life, I took inspiration from the environment. I tend to create any sort of art-related pieces with something that I feel should be discussed as a society. The way environment works always interested me because we as a whole have such a huge impact on the environment and the way we approach it. With this interest, I decided to create a photo related to the environment, with my specific photograph it’s not necessarily a direct message when you view it. The process behind my image is each object represents something; the flowers benefit the environment by providing better air quality and could prevent soil and water contamination. Also one of the candle’s meanings is hope/persistence if you keep raising awareness about the impacts of the environment, it could hopefully reach and have an effect on plenty of people.
