This is ME, Zeba Khan, 2020

I believe that culture is something which shapes a person into who they are. I think that if I didn’t have a culture, there would be an empty part in my life. Now you might say ``Not everyone has a culture, so do they have an empty part in their life?” No, they wouldn’t. Culture can become a part of you when you follow a religion; but this is not always the case. It’s about the small things you do: what you eat, how you dress, the language you speak. These things are all part of a person’s culture.
I got my inspiration from the social issues arising from race and identity. I think that these should be our least concerns because it is 2021, but there is still a lot of work to do and I wanted to explore new ways to help people accept cultures. What I want to show from my art is to respect all cultures, admire others’ interests and enjoyment. Accept who they are, and they will accept you too.
