Never Ending, Inevitably Ends, Zara Hassan, 2020

I am fascinated by the fact that we are controlled by something that never waits for us. We can’t see it, and we cannot win against it. I think that we underestimate how fast time passes and changes us. We were just kids yesterday, and soon we will be old with wrinkly skin and walkers. What inspired me was the reality we live in. We are put on this earth as travellers with limited time who will leave one day. I notice a lot of people waste their time immensely. It makes me wonder why they do what they do, since they know that the time gone won’t ever come back. I want to communicate the preciousness of time because it goes by faster than one might think. We were a fetus, then we developed and we will inevitably die; thus, the flower in my final image fading into the darkness. I want viewers to realize that time goes as fast as a seed blossoming into a flower, which will eventually, inevitably fade away.
