Laundry Day is a piece about the exploration of identity and serves as a reminder to take things day by day. When creating an identity for yourself, there is no path to follow. The future is blank, and while this may feel paralyzing, it serves as an important reminder that growth can not be restricted, no matter how much life feels stilled.
My piece is the narration of growing out of clothes. Arriving at milestones can feel very pressured when plans have drastically changed, but it is reassuring to see yourself grow as a person no matter what chaos encompasses you. Often we can have such high expectations for the future, I am learning to let go of expectancy and run with the present-day instead.
My work serves as a mirror to give me a better understanding of who I am and who I want to become and accept that there is no formula for life.
