Over the past 3 years, I’ve been finding ways to tie my art with my passion for environmental design and sustainability. Whether I focus on interior or exterior design, the outside environment surrounding us will always be a significant factor for us when designing. It’s crucial to essentially treat our planet well and to have that right balance between design and sustainability around us. My photo focuses on the environmental aspect. We as humans naturally pollute subconsciously and in the 21st century, I believe that it’s difficult to really see the good in our environmental surroundings. This single bud in a lightbulb surrounded by trash is a sign of growth and hope. I want this piece to put things into perspective and for us to really get that driving force that’ll motivate us to achieve higher standards for our environment. While I love designing interior spaces, it’s so important to take care of this planet that provides us so much room for design and innovation. It’s time to return the favour.
