Still life photography is interesting and pleasing to look at, but at first, I didn’t see a clear path to do much more than that. This motivated me to make a still-life that gave the viewer more than just the stock image feel. Inspired by the way that Timothy Brill uses still life photography to capture emotions, ideas and forms of comedy all while using vegetables and fruits as his main subjects, I worked to display human feelings and emotions using the inanimate objects of the traditional still life style.
After seeing my photo, I hope people come away with different interpretations and emotions. For me, the underlying message clear, but the specifics may not be as cut and dry for someone else. I know what this piece represents for me, but what does it represent to you?
