Untitled, Jade Hauser, 2020

My name is Jade Hauser, I primarily work in photography. Growing up I always had a love for Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland and it had a strong influence on how I entertained and expressed myself. For this piece, I decided to take a more sophisticated approach to the whimsical story, focusing more on the original book itself as opposed to more modern interpretations. With this project, my image explores the playfully dark aesthetic of the book as well as the theme of still life. I tend to relate to various forms of media with lightly-presented mature themes, which is why I have expressed that in my photo.
