days inside, Daamin Kelly, 2020
My interest is mostly photography and really, it’s because I get to be someone that puts ideas from their perspective into their work. I chose my ideas based on the things that are important to me and the story is behind them, such as listening to music to keep myself motivated. In my process of working on this project, I picked some things in my house that represent a little bit about myself. The objects show a childhood moment of mine with my family. What inspired me to create an image like this was from a photograph by Sara Cwynar. I wanted to use a filter and work on my own in-house things. I chose the name ¨days inside¨ because we are currently in a pandemic and no one is allowed outside. So I decided to focus on the indoors. I found the title to be a catchy saying because of how our lives have changed and I was inspired to make my ideas around our current situation come to life.
