Light of Life, Anastasiya Pasyeka, 2020
The world can be a magical place! I go about my life with that in mind, and when you keep an open mind everything seems more beautiful. We can often get overwhelmed with all the negativity around us, and it can really impact our physical and mental health. It’s often the simplest things that you don’t even think about that hold the most beauty.
The year 2020 has been a very hard year for all of us. Between a global pandemic, protests about people’s basic human rights, and many other things, I tried to make my artwork an escape from that reality. I want it to represent a reality of kindness and love.
The crystals in my photo are very beautiful and represent the earth, something that is always there for you. The fire from the candles represents life and people, they can be beautiful and bright but also dangerous. The dark background helps bring out the candlelight because without darkness there is no light. They coexist together to help keep balance.
