Stages of Grief, Ana Andrade, 2021

I am the subject in this photograph.  By covering my face the viewer is forced to not just focus on facial appearance which is such a dominant theme in fashion photography and the objectification of women.
The bag covering my face represents how we often deal with the idea of death.  During this time many people stifle feelings of loss. 
The stark contrast between the white snow and the black gown adds to the unsettled feeling that I wanted to create in this photo.
